SMU Philippines Alumni & Friends Fund
As part of the SMU Philippine Community Fund Campaign, the SMU Philippines Alumni & Friends Fund calls for SMU alumni and friends community in the Philippines to collectively raise an endowed donation of $125,000.
The fund aims to support the SMU Innovation Internship Grants or the SMU Exchange Scholarship for undergraduates, on alternate years, in perpetuity.
Contributions can be made from an entity in the Philippines or via a Singapore-registered entity. Singapore tax-resident individuals and corporations will receive a tax exemption of 2.5 times the donated amount.
SMU Innovation Internship Grants
The SMU Innovation Internship Grants aim to support full-time SMU undergraduates to pursue internship opportunities with startups or innovation hubs in the Philippines. The grant, valued at $5,000 each, will enable the students to experience a 10-week non-bonded internship with a prudent lifestyle in the Philippines and will cover all related costs, including airfare, visa and travel insurance.
SMU Exchange Scholarship
The SMU Exchange Scholarship aims to support full-time Filipino SMU undergraduates to pursue an exchange term with SMU's partner universities around the world. The scholarship, valued a $5,000 each, will offer financial support towards a recipient’s living expenses, accommodation, airfare, as well as travel and health insurance during the duration of his/her International Exchange Programme.
